Africa Quantum Consortium Call-to-Action
🔊 CALL FOR STUDENT POSTERS & PRESENTATIONS FDCR 2025 | JULY 15
The FDCR 2025 Quantum Computing Workshop, led by IBM and CSIR, explores how quantum computing can drive a sustainable digital economy in South Africa. It will cover quantum basics, Qiskit coding, real-world applications in health and sustainability, and the role of government in shaping responsible quantum adoption. With a focus on digital inclusion and SDGs, the workshop aims to equip African researchers—especially from low-resource settings—with the skills and insight to apply quantum technologies in impactful, domain-specific ways through hybrid classical-quantum workflows.
Are you a student working in quantum computing or quantum machine learning? Present your work at SAICSIT 2025 as part of the FDCR Workshop.
This is your chance to:
1. Showcase research (theoretical or applied) in quantum computing, Qiskit experiments, or quantum-enabled healthcare solutions
2. Share how quantum tools are driving innovation across disease diagnostics, drug discovery, and beyond
3. Connect with academic and industry experts in Africa’s growing quantum ecosystem
🎯 Who should apply:
African-based or diaspora students (undergrad to PhD) with projects involving:
Quantum computing,
Quantum machine learning,
Use of Qiskit SDK,
Applications in medicine, AI, optimization, or other data-heavy domains.
🗣️ Presentation Types:
Lightning Talk (8 minutes) – Top abstracts will be selected
Poster Presentation – For networking and deeper discussion
📅 Event Date: July 15, 2025
📍 Location: In-person or virtual (hybrid)
